About Carrie

There’s little I enjoy more than learning about a child and bonding with them on their learning journey. I draw student interests into our lessons—from tennis to pangolins to Japan… I love to see my students get excited about what they’re learning, while targeting their struggle spots, and providing encouraging, scaffolded support.

I am a Certified Wilson Reading System Dyslexia Practitioner (4th Edition) and TEFL-certified teacher. I have a BA in Linguistics (Oberlin College), and an MPhil. in Ethnomusicology (University of Hong Kong), and am a lifelong lover of language.
